I assume you know that they're Hankook Ventus Z212's? They were awesome for a beginner, meaning that I am not yet good enough to skillfully push their limit. I let my instructor drive my car for the June event, and he thought there was plenty of grip. Which is cool, considering he's used to R-comps on his car. My opinion is that I made a wise decision settling on 245/45-16's instead of trying to put a 195-width tire on a stock wheel. It may not make that much difference, but 50mm (almost 2") more width can't hurt.
My plan is to stick with these for awhile, and probably use another set if I don't find any problems with them. Hopefully by the time I've been through 2 sets, I'll be ready for r-comps.
