I knew that there is no problems with progressive rate springs. The damn things come from Hypercoil who primarily designs springs for the top race teams world-wide and a half dozen heavy-league after-market tuners. Don't be too hard on him. I remember saying the exact same thing on another forum a few years ago.
That and experts can and do screw up. It's good to check their work every so often.
