93 SE-R "The Daily Re-Up"

THE RE-UP HAS BEGUN!

NOTE: Before they attempted to do the install on my exhaust kit (Everything was brand new UN-USED)

1.) Get Exhaust done.............. Full 2.5 VRS/SS Kit with ApexiWS2 - Completed 5/10/08 Post#7 and #14
2.) Headlight Restoration..........Defogger Kit - Completed 5/31/08 Post #16

So I finally decide to get my exhaust kit put on that has been sitting in my room for over a year and I take it to Maxi Muffler on ringgold road. This has gotten me off to a SLOooooooW start, but it should be fixed soon. I drop my car off at 12:30PM this past SAT and the guy tells me it will be about an hour or two before they can get it done. He says that it will be about 140 for the job. This is my FIRST time I've had my full exhaust done, so I was like ok. (I should have looked around a little more, but they were 60 seconds from my APT.)

I'm thinking to myself, that price was off by 50 dollars or so because the pipe kit was already PRE-BENT for my car and they used the flanges from my old test pipe and resonator. Anyway the guy at the front desk said that he would call me when it was done. I was like cool, so I'm looking at my watch a little later and I'm like dang, it's going on 4 HOURS since I dropped my car off, let me go see what's going on???????

I get there and it is sitting in the back and the guy didn't even give me a call. (No biggie, it's SAT and he may have gotten a little busy) FIRST thing I do is crank the car and get under there to feel and listen for leaks. NO NEED,..... I look at the back part of my CAT and it is sleeved into the front part of my RESO.(No biggie, everybody makes mistakes sometimes and it is fixable) So I called the front desk guy over to my car and show him the problem. He was like, "O yeah, I see what you talking bout, we will weld it all up for you." Me thinking fast, I was like......."Make sure you use flanges so that I can replace the CAT if need be". He was like ok we can do that for you.

Moving right along,...........This ends up taking another 35 to 45 mintues to fix. By this time it is close to 5PM and again I dropped my car off at 12:30PM! They finally finish it up ( AS IT SEEMED THAT WAY) and I look under the car one more time and saw the (2) flanges and I was like, cool it's done. I hop in my car and take it right to the interstate to see how the welds were going to hold up. I BEAT my car pretty hard that day and wasted a lot of gas. AND THEN...........

I am driving my car and noticed after about (2) days of driving, the pitch has changed. By this time I am like, WTF is it now? I get under my car and sure if enough I SEE the problem. The back part of the RESO were it's ACTUAL SUPPOSE to be weld to the exhaust piping was sleeved! I'm like you got to be kidding me! I over looked this at the shop from the FIRST problem I had with the (2) flanges being missing. I will be going back this coming saturday morning to waste some more of my time. I'm not trying to say that this is a bad shop, but they DROPPED the ball on me BIG TIME! Especially with this being one of the RARE FULL off days I get. MAKE SURE YOU ALL LOOK OVER THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE! I'm glad I caught this early so I can have it fixed.

Right before I left the shop I asked the guy if I had anymore leaks could I bring it back, and he was like yes, we will fix you right up. Well, I will be going for ROUND #3 and I hope this one does the JOB. I will try and post up PICS and a VID clip of my claims later today. Another than that, the Re-Up has begun!
