I don't know for certain but I doubt it. I think if it did that by now the 240 community would know it - they get a lot of questions about whether the KA starter will work. If you can find a spare FWD starter why not see if it fits?

Yeah, I have a spare RWD starter that's shot. Can you just take it to a tranny shop and ask for a rebuild, or do they need specs (that I might not be able to get, it being a JDM item)?
Actually it wasn't an offer, it was a question - I'd like to have it rebuilt so I have a spare. Can a shop rebuild it without knowing what car it's from?
I'm almost certain the answer is no. I just recently changed the starter on my 240 (KA24E) and I changed the starter on my SE-R several yrs ago. I can't say without a doubt, but I'm certain that they were significantly different.
A few aquaintances ofmine on the 240sx boards agree, by the way.
yea the shop by my house were just going to replace the bad parts, they said it didnt matter if it was jdm. If you want me to have it done for you, they wanted $110 to do it, with one day turn around. Let me know.
And thanx auto, i have yet to see a KA starter, or a KA motor out side of a car. So i would have no idea.
