rb26dett....what does it fit into that we have in the states.

now don't everyone slam on me all at once. but what car will a rb26dett fit into that is /has been sold in the united states. i have seen 240's that have rb25's in them, but how much alterations have to be done to make it all work out?

You can fit the Rb26dett in the 240sx chassis. It just takes alot of R&D. It's not a matter of just bolting it in. You would need a Rb25det tranny to mat with, since the Rb26dett is all-wheel drive. Then you would need custom motor mounts and a custom drive shaft. Of course you would also need a seperate engine managment system like Haltech. The Rb26dett will also fit in the 300zx chassis too, but it's not as popular as the same swap into the 240sx. Power wise the Rb26dett swap is really not that great. You wouldn't be able to control anything more than 700hp. And if you're looking for just that much HP, then you could make that same amount with the SR20det. Jun could bearly control their Hyper Lemon Silvia, and it was producing 700hp. I guess you could say that the Rb26dett swap would be a very expensive bragging right.

if your on zilvia.net thers been alotta talk about skyline swaps

the rb26dett will not fit due to the turbos hittin i beleive the power steering rack so you would need to make your car rhd.

i beleive thats what was wrong with that.

unstable hybrids has swapped the rb20det into a 240 already that is a more reasonable swap though still needs custom mods

From what I have seen the RB(26,25) swap is possible. I have seen many pics of them in S14's some in the states. Not an easy swap by any means but from some rumors from a local shop there is a kit from Australia or something that will allow you to install them a little easier. Hmmm...maybe that's why they have a RB26DETT sitting in the shop now.

Yes, there is a kit made in Australia. It comes with the proper motor mounts and the drive shafts and stuff. But I too forgot the name of the company. I read about them 2 years ago.
