bought a 1990 240sx and what to do..

hey guys, i am not trying to be stupid here, so slam me if you want. tomorrow i am going to virginia and picking up a 1990 240sx 5 speed and its white. now every so once and a while i peek into the 240sx det room to learn a bit. but i am not afraid to say that i am no where knowledgeable when it comes to 240's unlike you guys. i am picking the car up for 1200 bux.
what are my options, i know i can do the det swap myself like i did my gti-r swap in my 1996 200sx se-r.
unlike my 200sx, i am going to stay mild with this 240sx.

1-can you guys direct me in the right way of which s13/14/15 motor to get?
2-where can i get silvia bolt on/accessories from?
3-would it be better if i got a entire front clip vs. buying everything seperately? (ie. headlight conversion, hood, panels etc..)
4-what type of ecu will i need to get, and wire harness, ignitor chip?

and anything else that you can think of will be a emense help. even little things like brake upgrades and that sort of stuff.

thanks everyone...
jimmy

...........

from what I have seen it's better to get the front clip because u get everything and don't have to hunt down extra parts. unstable hybrids might have some front clips.

I would get a front clip if you can. try and find one with a dash so you can pull the cluster off. With the front clip you can swap everything over and have a stock setup. This is the cheapest way to do it. If you have any other questions feel free to aim me. Other places to find motors are:

www.projectsilvia.com
www.heavythrottle.com

Good luck.

ohh

And sometimes u get cool stuff with your swap. My friend got a ECU with a daughter board on it, it had 2 eprom chips on it. Won't know if it's anything speical till he gets his car running. Might just be basic stuff like fuel cut an rev limit bla bla who knows.

You should get on www.freshalloy.com There is a ton of traffic, and many SR swap guys (including myself).
You can ask Yury and Jeff questions: www.srswap.com (same as heavy throttle)

The more research I do, the more I want to get a front clip. Nothing like having the whole wiring harness for your purusal. I'm too anal about wiring, and trying to patch the KA harness to the SR harness sounds hokey.

Heavythrottle.com offers conversion harnesses, but they can't get the AC to work on S14 (with S14 or S13's). Um, I love my AC so I'll have to do this myself.

Plus, if you want to save a few bucks, you'll get the factory IC and all of the hardware...all of it.

SCC's project silvia looks really good with all of the stock hardware.
