JGY manifold?

Does anybody on here have any expirence with the jgy customs t3/t4 topmount manifold? im looking to go t3 wiht an external wastegate, i just wanted to see if these are any good its only $200, so befor i start cutting and welding my perfectly good gt spec manifold i figured i check.

we were gonna run the wastegate out of the center of the collector,

also if i get the jgy manifold this will be up for sale, 400$ its been used for a week

anything with the JGY name on it is not something i would suggest buying. It looks an aweful lot like the SSA manifold thats is ever so terrible, odds are JGY doesnt make that manifold anyways, last i recall seeing they dont do much custom fabrication themselves.

sorry if this seems harsh towards them i have a very bad experience along with many others across the boards.

Don't walk....run away. I have heard nothing positive come from any JGY transaction. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they rebadged an SSA manifold and marked it up 100%. It amazes me he's still in business with all the negative publicity he's received in the past.

He was doing a head job on it via a guy I knew and he etched the guy's name into my head trying to be funny. It wasn't.

JGY stories are on every board of members being screwed over and over again, Andy is as much against them as i am, when given the opportunity to help a person avoid a bad transaction/ PITA situation i will bad mouth them to no extent. (my "complete clip" i ordered came with no IC or piping + 6 month late exhaust + rude service + poor customer serivce)

but this thread isnt for all the war stories, just hope you take our words into consideration. Buy a Peakboost, Hybridynamics or full race manifold and avoid wasting any of your time.

WTF. Where did he etch it? Do you have pictures?

Maybe he was pretending to be a Porsche tech. Thing is they do it with sharpie.

I can understand needing to mark it somehow when it was being cleaned, and to make sure he didn't mix mine up with someone else's, but he could've used a number or marked it elsewhere on the head.

The thing I hate most about him is that he simply doesn't give a rat's ass about customers. In this market, that's inexcusable.

That's Jason for you. Last time I emailed him, he responded with a half naked picture of himself in front of a Confederate flag

wow i hate to go against the flow but i bought my GT2871r through JGY and got it at least $100 cheaper than anywhere else. also had it in hand 3 days later. ive bought a couple other things from them and have never had a problem talking to someone i needed to or having anything i order take longer than 2-3 days to get to my house.
my friend bought a turbo package from them for his b14 and everything came in pretty quick except the downpipe. he called up and asked to talk to jason and jason apologized and sent him a 3" downpipe for no extra charge (he was supposed to get a stock downpipe so the 3" was a $200 upgrade).
Ive heard lots of bad crap about them but i havent ever had a problem. the same goes for SSA stuff. ive heard bad stories about them too but i have some SSA stuff ( think just the turbo manifold and downpipe) and i have had nothing but good quality items. the problems come from people that buy SSA cause they dont want to spend any money on ne thing. they dont hang their exhaust properly and they love running over speed bumps super fast. they are called retards and there are alot more of them than there are of us. and somehow SSA has a bad name... go figure. plus SSA is a distributer, i dont think they make any of it. granted i would NEVER buy a turbo from them.

just my $.02

It's possible that he's trying to do better by customers and I believe in giving people second chances, but sincerely believe he will never get better. Not giving a chit about customers is not a phase, it's a terminal illness.

well i have to agree with goinsleeper. i have been ordering from jgy for 3 years now... and ive got perfect customer service, more than perfect. i actualy can call them and bullsh*t on the phone about sr's for 45 min. very polite.. i orderd a pair of ras, and they came in the box pretty bent, i called jason. he said no worries and over nighted me a new set, WITHOUT ME RETURNING THE BENT ONES. bent them back bam two pairs lol... and lol i have to agree with goinsleeper on the ssa manifolds, over 2 years ago i swiched to the rwd dark side, and really loved the diff my mani made on my fwd soo i was in the market for a cheap tubular rwd manifold. i always kindda looked to andreas for tech/part questions. well when i called him about the ssa manifold he told me "well i did a test on the new ssa manifolds and truthfully i would never in a million years spend the extra 500$ for a name brand, take my word for it and buy the 321ss SSautochrome. so i said screw it. 2 blown motors later, my manifold doesnt have a crack on it.... just my input, im sure all you guys were probably discuraged by jgy. i was shocked last time i came on these forums to see everyone bad mouthing them. when i was an active member jgy hooked us up fat. maybe jason and them got lazy.. who knows, hope they get better *** i like the prices.
