Worth it?

My cousin has an s13 with blown motor, that happens to be an Auto.... he offered it to me for 300 bux, half the engine ripped out, and he'll tow it to my garage
(i think he started the project with gusto, but then realized that it wasn't gonna be an overnight racecar)
is it worth doing a DET swap? will the tranny conversion be a downer to the operation?
the interior is shot, there is a kinda large rust spot on the drivers side A pillar, but other than that the chassis is clean...
just wanted some other opinions
Thanx!

Well from what it sounds like I would say a good track car but sh*tty street/daily. Since it's an auto I would get a front clip so you get all the parts you need.

[edit] Damn do you really own all those cars?

Hell yeah... take your time with it! You can sometimes find the engines with the tranny also... But the front clip would be the way to go. What year S13? You could make a Silvia!

ya know, thats the one thing I forgot to ask the guy! I was so stoked that it was a s13, and he was heading out the door for a high school graduation thing.....it really didn't come up in the terribly short coversation(when I asked if it was an s13, he hadn't a clue of what I spoke, I had to peek my head out into the garage and in the very dim light I ID'ed it)...

but I already have decided to attempt making a Sil-80 with it.....I'll take an s14 front, but I really LOVE the S15!
