I want a 240sx.. but..

The community...

I love sr20forum so much, but we have very little resources regarding the 240sx.

Do any of you have any suggestions for 240sx forums? I'm trying to steer clear from all the punks. I want to be socializing with the 240sx guys who know their stuff, and like to have a good time.

Luke

eh? There are tons of resources all over the internet as far as technical stuff thats been very well documented. Theres not that many 240 guys here on this particular forum, but there are a few of us who know quite a bit and are eager to help.

It's not the resources that is an issue, it's the general mindset of the forum.

People here are very respectful and mature, responcible individuals. Whenver I venture to different car forums, everyone seems to be bonkers.

Just curious if there are any 240 specific forums that have a similar mindset as the people here.

There are some compatibilities, and in general tuning them is the same for turbo stuff - i.e. a given turbo/MAF/injector/management setup will yield roughly the same results on either engine, knowing that the manifolds are different and the drivetrain losses won't be quite the same.

Just keep looking around. I agree that Freshalloy is a great place to start. Zilvia is good to as long as you don't ask questions, just search, it's a total flamefest; they all think they've seen everything before, and anyone trying to get into the community is beneath their notice.

thanks rittmeister,

you seem to know your 240s... so i gotta ask you, is there any good reason to spend the extra money on a S14 blacktop? i know the turbo is bigger and that it's a lowport and has the variable cam thingy, but it seems like slapping a T28 on a redtop would be cheaper?

The redtop is perfectly fine and basically the equivalent of what you would be running right now. It's just an older motor, but not any more so than dealing with a B13.

Zilvia is a trash fest in my eyes...Freshalloy tends to be a little better.

This site actually has quite a bit of info on them as well, if you do a little digging.

NICO has quite a bit, although I can't stand it after the layout change.

ka-t.org will always be one of my favorites, but my view is a little tainted.=)

The average Zilvia member is a young idiot with no real knowledge...there are very few people I've dealt with that actually knew what they were talking about.

Pretty much what he said, to answer the above question. If you want an S14 engine go for it, but for my money the S13 engine gets it done.
