I forgot this thread was here... copy/paste from my members ride writeup.

I completed my 3rd track day in the 240 this last friday... this was also the first one that I've done in the dry with the car. The temps were in the mid 70's with blue skies most the day.

The 240 really really shined yesterday. I was in shock how well balanced the car was in the corners and especially on how good the Potenza RE-01R's stuck in the dry. The funny part about having almost no power is that if I wasn't on the brakes I had my right foot planted on the gas pedal... always! No matter how hot I came into a corner or if I was off line, or just letting someone pass me on the inside of a turn, the car just plain stuck. As for corner speeds, I was putting distance between cars in the corners... well, until we got to the exit they rolled into the throttle .

A good friend with a HT supra came out, he had done one school last year and this was his first open lapping day. He was alittle slow in the morning, mostly learning the track/moster car/himself. Later in the day he followed me around the track for a full 30 minute session, afterwards I went out with him for a session and pointed out a few lines and he was showing major improvements. By the last session he was passing me and starting to hang with Bob in the Evo.

My fun was mostly in the corners. I focused on braking later and carrying more speeds into the corners and carrying that through the corner without scrubbing it off. The other part of the corners was letting others pass me there . We had two of the local race team drivers out there in there personel cars (lotus exige and C5 Z06) practicing some wheel-to-wheel action. I had Dan with me a few times when I was pointing them by on the braking zone of turn two and four or just past the apex of two. I also pointed Chris by in his Camero SS in the braking zone of turn four, but forgot he can't brake as hard or carry as much speed through the turns as I can... let's just say we went through the turn side by side

The Hawk blues did great in the dry coupled with the Z32 rear brakes . I used the NAPA performance pads for the first session and quickly changed to the blues... they could withstand the heat, but just didn't have enough bite to stop me in time.

For tire temps I ran 37 F/R hot. I adjusted the progress swaybars to the middle setting on both front and rear and didn't touch anything besides a few pressure adjustment to keep the fronts at 37.

As usual the 240 in the pits...

A picture to show how sticky the tires got... the tires resisted chunking and the wear was pretty even across all 4 tires. I will probably only get 3 to 4 track days out of these with the way I'm driving them and a turbo coming soon. Maybe a 245/40/17 might be a possibility for a street tire once I burn through all the three sets that I currently have

The pits, there are two very nice 350Z's down there, to bad I never saw the cars out at the same time I was out there.

The HT supra, a very clean and well taken care of car! With the boost turned all the way down it still puts out about 350whp

Still just a street radial tire and not an R-compound, what do you expect?

That picture is deceiving... most of what you see on there is rubber picked up from the track on the cool down lap, which just shows how sticky they got. After about 100 street miles they look good as... well, as good as they did before the track day

There a steet tire, but with a 140 (or was it a 160) tread wear rating they stick pretty damn good

Reviving this so I don't forget to post in a few days.

I rechecked the timing last night since the cam install... dead on at 15 degrees. The hawk blues for the rear Z32 brakes are in and will be bedded in on track Friday morning and I finally got my gauges installed so I can better track water temp and oil pressure.

Oh yeah, I'll be on the track this Friday

4th track day completed this last Friday .

The weather was perfect, 70's from 11am to 5pm with some cloud cover and no rain. Only a few of the local friends made it and the total turn out for the day was about 20 cars. A good friend from Portland made it over with his T25 powered Sentra for his first ever track day at SRP and I'm sure he had a blast... right up to the point of cording that new hoosier tire .

I spent the first part of the morning bedding in the new rear pads, the hawk blues, and relearning my braking points since I had a bit more braking force than before. The combination of the S13 MC and Z32 full brake setup with hawk blues all the way around has more rear bias than I need, the slightest bump in the braking zone or slip on my downshift and we got alot of rear lockup. The Z32 MC will be going on before Aug 10th.

The rest of the morning I spent giving my Portland friend a ride and riding with him, helping him pick up on the lines... which he picked up quickly. The afternoon I just had fun following or being followed by friends that were nice enough not to pass me on the straights .

The JWT cams and loss of 120lbs helped me pick up 5-7mph on the front straight and for the car to just be that much more responsive on the track. I still need to boost the car to really enjoy it. The only cars that I could overtake was a cobra kit car and few BMW's driven by some first timers on this track. Of course the Cooper S's weren't pulling as fast away from me on the straights this time .

My water temps never broke 175F throughout the day. Well see how that changes once the car is boosted though.

I gave several people rides throughout the day and got a few comments on how well the car corners and how well balanced the car was through the turns . I must admit on a few occasions, once the tires started to get greasy, I had the back-end swing around on me and I was giggling. The car is so easy to control once the back end steps out it's not even funny . I also learned on the tight 2nd gear turn, I shouldn't pass on the inside... I tried to keep the back end from swinging out, but all that happened was some crazy-mad drift through the turn and alot of counter steering to keep from looping it.

All in all it was a good day and I really really hope to have the Turbo and the Evo L seats in by Aug 10th...

Nice I am loving this thread. I have a s13 that is in the shop getting some engine work and was thinking about hitting the track. This is all the inspiration I needed. I am digging the 240 bro. I have the DET and am putting a 2871 on it and I am waiting to drive it.

Brian, me and a few others have already sent our money in for the September 14th HPDE at PIR... it's with the Cascade club.

Do you think you'll have the AEM setup figured out by then to join us

The 14th was the only day that worked for most of us over here... also, I want to get all the kinks worked out of the turbo install before I make a 6 hour trip to Portland

Today was another track day and I was at work... the funds that I would have spent on this day are going towards getting the 240 turboed. Now I start to count down the days to Sept 7th .

This Friday and Saturday will be a pair of back-to-back track days... followed by a track day next Friday in Portland . Now if I can just get to the garage and finish getting the car together!!! My only concern right now is one of the oil or water lines leaking at the turbo

lets hope you can tell which is leaking...since the oil shoudl look much diff than the water.....

if you have stock lines repace with reliable aftermarket, not SS neccessarily, but somethign flexable....
