AIV removal..is it necessary?
Hello,
I am installing a red top S13 SR20DET into a 1998 240SX SE. I have read that it is necessary to remove the AIV tube and stuff in order to clear the steering linkage. Also, I heard that you ned to remove one of the heat shields on the turbo to clear the steering linkage.
Is this correct?
I have seen some S13 swaps and the AIV was still there. I want to keep the AIV if possible, as the car will not run optimally if I remove with getting the ECU reprogrammed to run without it.
By the way, I am referring to the black box that has a metal line on it leading into the downpipe.
