240SX and DET Swap

I curently own a 2002 Infiniti G20 Sport. I have done a couple things to it but pretty much come to the conclusion thats it isnt a very good car for racing. Its got a slush box, its heavy, and there isnt much aftermarket support yet.

So I have seriously been thinking about getting a 1989 240SX and doing a S13 SR20DET swap on it. What I want to know is what is the good price for a 89 240. I have seen prices from 3k to 1k. I was also wondering how much a SR20DET swap would cost including labor, engine and all the parts I would need. I live in the Bay Area and would also like to know of a shop that has done the swap before and knows what they are doing in my aera.

Thx for the help!

What part of Cali are you from? If your in Socali go to this websight. http://www.phase2motortrend.com/phpBB/index.php

If you get somone to install the motor u can pay them $380 to do the wiring for you S13 or S14 U will have to ask Wayne. He can get front clips too.

Ok well the swap will be easier in a 91 up. If you still want to do a swap into a Zenki then you may want to think of getting a front clip. Actually you should think about this either way. This is the easiest and cheapest way of doing the swap. You can use all of the stock parts and have a nice stock setup. A front clip is maybe about 3000 for a redtop.

Otherwise you can just order a motor setup@2500 about and then buy lots of nice upgrades to get your car running. Intercooler kit, downpipe, exhaust, intake will get your car running. This is bare minimum. I would also do boost guage, turbo timer, and high flow 3" cat.

Thx u. I was actually thinking of going with a stock set up and then moving on as I had the money to do so. So I guess Im going to be looking for a front clip. But I still need to know if anyone knows of a good shop in the bay area that can do this swap.
