My latest VQ35 swap:
2005 Maxima engine
RS6F51H HLSD
6 speed box
1999 RB25 NEO ECU with suitable sensors/trigger wheels and MAF etc(VTC tested and tuned but not being used yet)
Tomei Procams(looking at Kelford 302/292 cams right now ***)
12.7:1CR with shaved head and thinner head gaskets
Cosworth Double Valvespring kit with Inconel +1 Intake and +1 Exhaust valves
Two SR20DE Throttlebodies using Hi-port linkage to open them together
Engine mounts:
Stock SR20DE engine mount onto a new engine bracket
Rear Mount - Custom
Chassis to Gearbox mount - 2003 Maxima
Torque mount - Custom but using stock dogbone
Fuel system:
Surge tank with FPR on surge tank for returnless fuel system. Both fuel rails now have rail pressure.
Electrics:
Stock SR20DE wiring loom with patch loom to join SR20 ECU connector to RB25 ECU, with extra loom for V6 coils/inj/VTC which alter the firing order to suit the VQ and the stock speedo drive clips into the 6 speed box without issue, so speedo works
Front hubs:
1995~1999 Maxima Front 5 stud hubs work(so do the 4x 114.3 B15 hubs)
VQ35 driveshafts and CV joints are used
Stock block driveshaft bracket used
Whole swap owes me less than US$9000 including freight and dyno time.
Average fuel economy this week with some hard driving has been around 8L/100km or about 430 miles to a full tank(around 35mpg or so?)
Can leave two 215mm wide wiggly lines for 300 feet up the road in 3rd gear from a 50mph rolling start...
