I'm not the original owner of my 92 SE-R, but I do know who it was.
His name was Eric Rankin. He was an Ensign in the US Navy and he bought it sometime before Aug 1992. Eric put approximately 60k miles on this car after he bought it from Warranty Nissan in State College PA. Eric kept the car until Dec 1999 which by then he was a Lieutenant Commander. He had driven this car all that time and at all of his duty stations, the two I know about were Guam and Port Quineme (sp) CA. So some of the aluminum pieces show some salt corrosion. Anyone know a good way to clean that up?
Eric sold the car to a George Dietz a college professor who lived in Encintas CA. George put about 11k miles on it. He bought a 2000 Corvette and sold me the SE-R with 71k miles for $4,750. The car looks like it just came off the show room floor and I've kept up that tradition of maintenance. The reason I know all this is because of the records that came with the car. Oil Change receipts every 3k miles the first one being 10/14/92 with 3,358 miles on it. The only difference is now it gets Mobil 1.
It also came with the original brochure for the 1992 Nissan Sentra which is in great shape by the way. Maybe I should scan it and make it available to everyone.
So anyway as the third and last owner this car will ever have. I take my hat off to the venerable Nissan Sentra SE-R.
