Here goes:
I had a black '91 SE-R until just this past weekend. I was the third owner, but within the family. My uncle bought it new in '91, and I remember him taking a bunch of us for a ride in it. I remember him saying "It's not nearly as fast with 5 people in the car!" And I remember clearly that it felt pretty cool, but this was before I really cared much about cars. Years passed, and in '97 I returned from living in Europe with my family. This was when my uncle was all successful and was about to purchase an E36 M3. My dad bought the SE-R with 40,000 miles on it for $3000. He drove it until January of 2000, when I bought it from him for $500 with 75,000 miles on it. It had been garaged for the majority of its life and at Salt Fest 2001 that didn't go unnoticed. Unfortunately for me, I moved into the city where caring for a car is much more difficult. I dealt with numerous dings and close calls, as well as a more-or-less devastating theft causing over $2000 in damage.
So- I no longer have this car. I sold it to a good friend of mine in NY who is now perhaps the newest member of SERCA.

As a replacement, I picked up another SE-R- this time a white '91 with 95,000 miles from a 2nd owner for $4300. I continue down the SR20DE path...
Can such a long-lasting, bang for your buck, solidly built car be made again by any manufacterer?
