You got to remember a turbo'd KA is a lot slower to rev than its SR20 counterpart. I've seen it first-hand. Not to mention the "struggling" it seems to go through to get up there.
To compare, a Neon's engine will rev to 7000-something rpms. But have you revved a Neon that high? It struggles, vibrates, and otherwise is not very symphonic in the process. SR20s and VTEC Hondas are the opposite of that.
