The slider pins thread into the calipers and go through the torque members where those rubber accordion things are.
AS for pads, what are you looking for in a pad? Axxis ultimates are pretty much the best street pad but they wil be a bit harsher on the rotors that a conventional pad. I am running EBC greenstuff, alot of people bitch about them, but unless you run a roadcourse they will be fine. I've had them for a year and a half with no problems. They fade if you brake from 150mph to 30moh but how often do you do that? If you want a pad that lasts long and is fairly resistant to fade, get genuine nissan.
