I may be new to se-r's and the sr20, but i've been around 510's practically my whole life.

First off, no, the 510 never came stock with a sr-anything. The sr is about a decade old, the 510? 3 decades old...those two never went together (at least not from nissan) originally, the 510 had a L16 motor. 1.6 liter SOHC with an iron block and aluminum head downdraft carburettor making about 96 (shetland ) horses to the flywheel. This was a very generous number by nissan. expect about 70 something horses to the wheels in this stock form. If you want more info on 510's just email me: rotaryracer2184@hotmail.com (i used to race a first gen rx7, hence the name...)

An sr20det would be a killer motor for a srx 510. Granted, bricks don't really go very well through the air at high speeds (like at the full course at Willow Springs), but for 510 freaks (like me) you'll live with it. At more technical tracks, however, like ButtonWillow I don't think there's any place where the aero package will really hinder you. Also, these cars have been raced for over 30 years now so there's pretty much every suspension setup you could possibly think of.

I myself have 2 dimes. One was my daily driver (L20 with flat top's, dual sidedraft mikuni's blah blah blah) until i bought a '92 se-r which i love. The other is my real project car that will be VG30 powered (the engine from a first gen 300zx)

I would make my first dime into an srx car, but the two problems i have are that:
1. I'm a flat broke college student.
2. The number of srx cars competing in SoCal isn't that many. Even though i think the numbers will start to come up pretty soon.

Although, if anyone (or group of people) would be interested in helping me out making this into an srx competitor i'm all ears! Maybe with the help of many we can make this happen

Whaddya say???
