First off, awesome information, including your recent post on installing an aftermarket LSD. You definitely make tranny work look less like a black art!

This is only partially true. The '99 P11 case is definitely different than the B13/B14. It has the cooling fins and appears to be reinforced to reduce flex. But it definitely does not have all the reinforcements of the '00 P11 case including the very interesting reverse gear setup. I am hoping to have mine on the ground in the next month or so where I will compare the case in more detail to a P10/B13/B14 case.

Anyway there's not a lot of info on the '99 case breaking under power. Ive run mine over 270 whp on a daily basis for over 2 years without a problem. Now Im sure a lot of breakages are a result of driving style, but I do think that the stronger case helps avoid shearing gears from improper mating.

The '99 P11 tranny also has the SE-R gear ratios which may be more suitable for turbo applications. But I guess more 1st and 2nd gear wheelspin is preferable to a spun 3rd gear In any case, I definitely agree that the +00 P11 or B15 tranny is stronger than any other SR transmission.
