Well my b15 trans is finally done and the car is back up and running. I have some new information for those who are going to be doing the swap in the future.
1: First off if you have a 98 ser or 99sel and get a b15 with locking differential it will require new axles.
2: If you have a 91-97 ser trans currently and get a b15 with open diff it will require a new divers side axle. This can be sourced from a 98-99 ser or sel with a production date after 10/97. However even with the new axle it is still a very tight fit.
3: I put an open diff b15 into my b14 and the shift linkange required no modifaction however the rear trans mount did need a fair amount of grinding. My suspention techniques swaybar also needed a fair amount of gringing to clear the shift linkage.
4: I was at first worried about running the open diff tranny however after driving the car it is offical that the factory lsd was do all of nothing for me before. This may not be the with cars making less power( mine is currently 285whp 293 ft lbs) but for me the tires were breaking loose at almost the exact same point as with the lsd.
These are just a few things that i think may be of a little help to someone considering doing the swap. I will get pics sometime this week and post them on the b15/p11 trans install thread.
