Cams Question..

Ok im goin with BC STAGE 2's i have a couple of items that might help or not help in this field for tunning purposes

S-ITC which is outdate an i think the highest timing you can go with it is 17'degrees advanced

Old school blue screen S-AFC

HKS 272 exhaust cam...

note** this is on stock ecu, springs, retainers, rocker arms

now the hks cam i just threw in there only if you guys think it would help out the HP with having the BC intake cam.. if not i wont do it also id like to know if the hks cams needs springs an retainers with the stock rev limit of 7,500k

i think the s-itc on a dyno might help out the tune a bit but its so outdated who knows..

s-afc will help on idle an tuning but *** if stock ECU with timing advanced all the way on zylene an 93 octane would suffice my apetite i rather try that..

let me know what you guys think...

I recently Installed BC Stage 3 and SR combo and find out that I hit the fuel cut too fast on 2nd gear so i decided to get a custom ecu tuned with a 8,000 fuel cut. You will get more all arround power with stock ecu with 21deg advance with 93 octane gasoline and you can tune the AFR with the S-AFC at least thats what I did before the custom ecu.....
By the way the best ET without cams was 14.39@93.8 and with cams and custom ecu 13.82@98.20

I was under the impression that when you've added "parts" it's better power wise to not run so much timing??? Did I say that right??

ahh 17 degree's is fine, so is 19 in my book.

only reason u should run 15 degree's is if u have a jwt ecu, there maps etc are based on 15 degree's timing.

HKS has a few different 272 grinds. they have a 272 12.0mm lift cam and a 12.5mm lift cam. which one do you have.

The JWT ECU program for S5/C2/C3 requires 25 degrees base timing, correct?
