i have them on my car now... it idles like stock... you will have to adjust the idle at operating temperature after the install but it idles smooth @ 800 for me. not lumpy at all
What's the point then? Shoot, I want my cams to barely idle...

I thought about this for a while, believe it or not. I wanted to have a lopey idle that makes ppl turn their heads like "WTF?! Only muscle cars do that!", but then reality kicked in, and I decided to get the BC S2's, since from what I've read, they're kick ass, in between JWT S3's and S4's. The cost factor was a plus, though I would have bought the JWT S4's anyway. Just saved some cash so I can spend that on something else for the car

I'm still a little nervous. I've read a few post where they strongly recommend s/r's. I think I'll go with some used s4's just to be safe. Thanks for the info though.
I just said the hell with it and ordered the S/R kit for the BC S2's. It's not like they're overly expensive, if it makes you feel more comfortable in the higher RPM bands.
The way I see it, is you're getting cams and S/R kit for the price of S4's alone. I think that's a pretty good deal.

Yeah, I heard some mean ass tuned cars at the local track days before I deployed. sh*t practically gave me wood to hear a tuned WRX sounding mean as hell. There was an Evo VIII there too that didn't even sound "Mitsu-ish". Sounded like the guy dropped a 454 in there or something. SICK!
But, I digress. Something that's not so blatenly obvious would be better for me, considering this car is going to be my DD. If I were sitting at a light and some little ricer pulls up, I don't want him to get the idea that I'm "bout it" and have him try to race me. I get enough crap like that from driving a bone stock Kia
IIRC, the S4's cost $560 new? Basically, you're paying LESS to get cams AND S/R kit, than cams from JWT. The BC S2's are in between JWT S3's and S4's.
I'd say that's a hell of a deal.
As stated previously, you have to sacrifice a little bit of low end torque for top end range. It's not any worse than stock, IIRC, but pulls you GREAT thru top end. My car will be turbo, so I don't care about low end torque. The T25 will more than make up for it. That and I would like to have a higher safe redline, than stock. With S/R and these S2's, I should safely see up to 8500rpm. I don't think that's far fetched.
