OK, numbers.
Get a 2.5 exhaust and bump up your timing and you'll be flying.
You have to get in the 145HP range, at least with the JDM.
Good job though!!!

what are you florida guys doing different down there??? is it because you dont have to pass emissions? I only put 134whp down and my friend with a JDM swap only did about the same. Thats with hotshot headers, intake, greddy exhaust, and advanced timing. I see some of you getting 150-160whp. I want my car to do that.

Back when I only had JDM SR20DE, POP, header, and ECU, I made 139hp to the wheels. And I have emissions testing here (EGR and everything hooked up, including AC).
Havent run with the exhaust and CAI.
So the FLA boys ain't *that* far-fetched.

yea, I should be getting an exhaust within a month or two.
I like the sleeper approach with running a stock exhaust, though.
Its hard to adjust timing when the cams make the idle slightly lumpy. (lumps because idle is less than 1000, for timing ajustment)... so thats why i say its around 16
I think the car is running rich, too. Any ideas on how to adjust this?
Just so you know I gained 12whp and 400rpm more before the power peak when I went to a 2.5 inch exhaust with no resonator(that should not be that much of a difference 1-2whp)over the small B14 exhaust (this was on a VE). People have said that you will lose tq with this large of an exhaust. I lost no tq/hp at any point in my rpm band (compared to stock). Everything was tested on the same day, back/back. My thought is that S4's should respond very well to a good 2.5 inch exhaust. You already sacrificed the low end for the high end with the S4's you might as well go for it and get a 2.5 inch or at least the 60mm. And yes I do think the VE data will relate to the S4's maybe just not as much overall HP. When I am done with my car I am driving to florida for a dyno day
keep the timing at 15 with the S4's, they like less timing advance than the stockers. people have gained about 2-4 whp by RETARDING the timing with S4s as they are a much more efficient cam profile.
