Solid lifters!

According to AEBS website, tomei makes solid lifters to replace the hydrauic lifter system, what are the advantages of running a solid lifter with the current cams that are out on the market? Would you need solid lifters with something like c3 or would be more for custom cams? Also is anyone running them right now? Does anybody have a website for TOMEI? Thanx

Solid lifters require different cams. Solid lifters are less prone to valve float, can be rev'ed higher, use a very aggressive cam, etc. The GTI-R motor uses solid lifters, as did the NA Primera touring car motor. Solid lifters require maintainance ( valve adjustment) and there isn't much aftermarket support. To really be able to make good use of the solid lifters, you need to have a motor capable of breathing at high RPM's. No such cams exist and the Nissan ECU runs out of memory at ~8100 rpm's, so stand alone fuel management would be necessary to achieve higher RPM's.
