just got my se-r

hey im totally new to this forum but i havew some questions about the 91 se-r aftermarket. i just got a 91 se-r with only 56k miles for 1800, it was a steal, no rust or anything. i have a pretty good amoutn of money to spend on it but i wanna keep ti all motor. my real goal is to make it 200hp and 200 ft lbs at the wheels. any links you guys could give me to manufacturers that could help me with this goal would be great. also i wanna know the kidna stuff you guys would do to get the the 200 hp mark without a turbo or a bottle. thanks in andavce.

the highest all motor dyno run to date was 199.5 hp at the wheels. This was about 2 weeksago by Anderas miko. The engine has extensive modifications, it's bored to 2.2l, ported head, cams, valvesprings and retainers, custom intake and exhasut manifolds, and so on. Unless you are willing to drop thousands of dollars on a bulit motor, it will be impossible to reach 200whp. With just bolt ons, you can reach approxiamtely 155-160whp. An alternative to this will be getting an SR20VE motor which cranks out about 180hp at the wheels with proper tuning. Development on this motor has pretty much just begun, it may be possible to squeak out more power than that in the future. The only guaranteed way to get 200whp right now is with turbo or nitrous. You would be surpeised to know how easy this car is to trurbocharge, and it can take it too with no reliablility problems if set up correctly for under 300whp situations

yeah i did kinda of assume that 200 hp would be near impossible to reach with nothing but basic engine mods. so who has a link to a site that sells turbo kits and all the apprpriate hardware for an sr20de.

hotshot and Fmax both sell turbo kits for our cars, but a cheaper alternative to that is piecing together your own turbo kit. There ane many cars in other parts of the world that use SR20's and those parts can be applied to our SR20s to make very reliable and streetable power. If you're serious about this, Andréas Miko can hook you up with whatever you need to acheive your power goals. He knows his sh*t and can sell you exactly what you need.

If you bought a T28 setup, you would have a turbo system capable of making about 250whp on a motor capable of handling 400hp for approximately $2500 including clutch, etc.
If you bought a DET you have a turbo cpable of about 220whp on a motor that can do a bit more then the 9.5:1 motor thats already in there for about $3500, plus you have to pull the motor and put a new one on, which is a major pain in the ass. The only real advantage of a DET motor in this horsepower range is if you have a high mileage motor that would not be able to handle boost, but there are tons of people running high mileage motors with turbos. Take Greg Perry, he ran a 78 shot of nitrous for quite a while, then switched to a turbo setup and is making in the mid 200whp level on the same motor tht took all the nitrous. His motor has about 160 000 miles on it.

That HP is possible to make, but the torque will not be an easy accomplishment.
