Is it worth it or what warm air intake I should go with probably will get ceramic coated pacesetter headers and a custom 2.25" with a dynomax or borla muffler ... Will this be annoying and will it be ricey??
any opinions help ????
I don't want to spend more than 650 to 750 installed ???
Drop in filter is alright.
I prefer the funnel cone filters cause they just suck air from EVERYWHERE.
Damn, if you have 650/750 to spend you can get a bad ass set-up. Try looking in the "For sale" section for bad ass deals. Just make sure its a reputable forum member before you go out dishing big bucks!!!!

I have a drop in right now, and if i had it to do over i would have gone with a pop charger. Im not a fan of cai's though, ever since a guy I know slurped up some water with his.

I felt the same way as you once, then I realized something everyone on this forum pointed out to me.
1. The intake is on the driver's side, not passenger's side like in Hundahs and other cars. Roads are designed to sloap to the passenger side, where all the water runs down to.
2. The place where the CAI filter sits is in basically right behind the bumper and is protected from underneath by a plastic cover.
3. You would need to drive into a puddle so deep that the filter itself would have to be submerged in the water.
So I went out, spend a couple bucks on a CAI setup and I'm happier then a dog getting bacon strips.
Sure. theres nothing wrong with a drop in and i noticed a SLIGHT increase in power after i put mine in, but it costs around 40 bucks, and for 70 or 80 you could get a used pop charger that would sound much better and give better results.
Dude, i picked up a cone intake from ebay with adaptor for like 30 bucks, and i have a 2.25" custom exaust with straight thru muffler and glasspack. I dont only love how it sounds, but with the cone filter instead of my custom cai, i yield better quarter mile runs at the track. Also, do what was suggested earlier. Get a Warm air setup ($30 bucks and u can do it urself in 15 minutes) custom exaust with dynomax ultraflow muffler, (250 bucks with install), and pacesetter header (150 shipped from nopi.com). Which you can also do urself. all in all you spent about 450 bucks. If you are looking to spend 650 - 700, then buy a two set of underdrive pulleys from unorthodox racing for a little under 200 bucks. This setup should get you close to high 14's or low 15's in the quarter. If your car is properly tuned up that is. And you know how to drive it.
I know this is a topic brought up all the time but I am deffinately getting a pop-charger over a CAI just cause what I have heard from other forum members, also right now I have a a adapter and filter and I raced my buddy in his 95 with a CAI and he has allot less miles and we both have 95's and I beat him by a good car length so thats good for me. The reason I am buying a pop-charger now is I want that billet velocity stack and I want me check engine light to go away, because I dont have my air intake temp sensor hooked up.
I dont know, I was hoping so,lol. But I have driven his car numerous times and it just doesnt feel like mine. I dont know maybe my car is just a hair faster? Just like my buddies that have classics, there cars feel faster than mine also.
