Went to the dyno...*numbers inside*

So at 83K miles I decided to take it to a dyno.

A couple things i learned, smaller engines dyno higher as they warm up. When i dynoed prior, different dyno, i picked up 3whp just between the 1st and 3rd run.

So what mods i have
'91 intake cam, custom exhaust, pr CAI that most likely needs to be cleaned.

Spark plug wires that are 83K miles old

so on to the number...
at 6k 128whp
at 4600rpm 127wtq

Discuss...

Thats odd that you gained power after you did a few runs. Usually the engine gets heatsoaked and you loose a few hp.

Was the curve the same just a little lower until the 3rd run. If so then that was probably just the oil in the transmission and engine heating up. Also, when the thermostat opens you get more power as well.

My car is wierd like that to. I lay down good numbers the first time I dyno after letting the car sit a while. Then as I do mor eruns I always get better numbers. When the car is to hot it loses power.

Yes the curves are the same they just register higher as the passes go on. They guy that did my runs said that smaller displacement engines do better when they are warmer. the oil get's up to temp and such.
That if i had advanced timing and three runs i could have hit over 130whp.

oh well, next weekend pacesetter power new plugs and wires

look for an updated dyno run before christmas!!

Make sure you do distributor cap and rotor also if you haven't.
