what should the EGT's be for a N/a motor? What is the max temp? I have an EGT gauge and maybe that can tell me more about my air/fuel untill I get it dynoed with a wide band.

Re: Interesting low buck intake stuff for big hp

Sorry to be pushy but... How is this going? I was waitng for the dyno to buy the nismo fpr. Curiosity got me first though. I made me an ultra ghetto FPR... I did it by pinching with a manual press on the fuel hose return. Butt dyno felt it pretty strong from 5K till redline. Do this sound coherent or Am I a complete monkey?

Thanks

Actualy pressing the can if done carefuly can work. Gotta go bit by bit and use a fuel pressure gauge.

Thanks, for the info. I will have to get rid of my AEM CAI now since I installed my cams.

Re: Interesting low buck intake stuff for big hp

seems like for a cammed car, the ideal w/b the PR CAI. Since you lose some low and midrange, why not get a little back with an intake that "targets" midrange?

or am i just misunderstanding this?

thats not exaclty how it works, mods have to complement each other to a degree. You can't for example run high end cams, low end headers and have an engine what works in high and low ranges most mods are mututaly exclusive.

Re: Interesting low buck intake stuff for big hp

Hey seriously, based on the posts is it safe to say that the further the MAF is from the TB the better the flow? because if so has anyone ever contemplated extending the wires to the MAF and placing the MAF closer to the pop filter......I am asumming the CAI will have to be fabbed

so how much of a real world horsepower difference will I see between these...2 or 3 horsepower higher in the midrange for the PR, and 2 or 3 horsepower higher top end for the HS. And what about the AEM, is it only good if you have a non cammed engine? am I understanding this? I only had time to skim over this thread...

isnt a aem cai diamter 2.5 inch and a hs and place racing 3 inch? that would have to make some difference on low end compared to top end and mid range, right?

Actually the benefit is better resonance(the REAL benefit to the CAI).
I think that Andreas Miko has done something like that on his allmotor.

I would say yes. Of course, the only way to know for sure is good ole fashioned dyno time.....
