I don't have any experience with Clutchnet but I've been reading bits and pieces about them and I've checked out their website. It seems they put some good quality stuff out. I've had experience with ACT for years and I like them. I want to know what the turbo guys would prefer between the following two types of clutches. When I get finished with my DET swap, it should put down 250-300 whp. Please only vote if you can honestly make a judgement. Thanks.

1. Clutchnet Type I pressure plate w/ 6 puck sprung hub disc

or

2. ACT Heavy Duty pressure plate w/ performance street disc

BTW, if you have any other suggestions for good clutches, let me know. Thanks.

i have an ACT 2100 clutch in my car and never had a problem with it.... and my buddy had an ACT xtreme stage 2 PP w/street disc on his det classic and it worked wonderfully. it never slipped, no problems whatsoever, and went through hell! he only put down 213 whp so idk how good they would hold with that much more hp. i dont know anything about clutchnet so i cant help you there. sorry... matt

I use ACT Extreme P/P with Street disc, and love it. I used to have a ACT H/D w/6-puck and found it a little hard to deal with in traffic, so I changed it when I went turbo. If your shooting for 250-300 at the wheels , you might want to condsider the Extreme P/P IMO. I have never used the clutchnet, so I can't help you there.

I have an ACT HDSS setup, works like a champ. Sorta wish It was a bit more stiffer now. But for a daily driver its awesome.

My buddy had an ACT HDSS and the springs pop'd outta the disc within 2000 miles of installing it. I believe they replaced it under warrenty ***.

i got a question.... how long do you guys think a ACT HDSS will last at 250-320whp?
thats what i plan on having, and i have this clutch, i was thinkin about changing the disc to a 00SE disc when i swap it.

the ddss kit holds 241tq so at 250-320 whp i dont think it will hold for verylong.....

Its wierd you would put up these two cause i used to have that exact ACT and now i have that exact Clutchnet.
Get the ACT the clutchnet is a fucking moaning POS. As soon as i have the money i'm replaceing it with another ACT. Clutchnet sprung 6 puck is by far the worst clutch i have ever driven and i've drive cars with more agressive clutches then this one. This clutch chatters more and makes more noise then any clutch i've ever heard. Its embrassing and i'm mad i gave this company money for it. In closing FUCK YOU clutchnet. :)

I would like to know this as well and how daily driving is with it since i was considering going with the XT PP instead of the HD this time around as i should be closing the gap on 300 whp sometime soon. the HD held fine with my 230whp.

HDSS here in my car. Held my setup pretty well. It would slip like crazy until operating temperature (if cold out). Not sure whats up with that. So i voted ACT.

It's stiff, very stiff... but liveable. I don't have one on my car, but my roomate has one, and my brother has had ACT in every car he's owned. I will be putting mine in as soon as my motor arrives.

Yeah someone told me that before too. Well, we'll see how this clutch holds with 300whp+ :biggthump I'm sure not long, so i'll have to decide which clutch to go with next!

I'm seeing a lot of folks replying and suggesting the Xtreme ACT pressure plate but I have personally seen about five SE-R's that have had that plate and broke their T/O lever because of the stiffness. Has anyone else experienced this problem here? That's the only thing that was steering me away from the Xtreme (other than driveability). Thanks for all the input guys!

Is it just the driveability that you dislike or does it perform like crap as well? Thanks for the input.

Its grabs nice and hard so i can't complain there. But and the rediculous loud noise it makes is makes is just unacceptable. I can handle the chatter but the noise drives me nuts.

What noise(s) are you getting besides the chatter?
