I just got back from hitting a curb on the solid ice roads here. I dunno how fast I was going, but the car hit pretty hard. I was able to drive it home, but I had to hold the wheel sideways and if you put the wheel straight and look at the tires the look like this / \, not that bad of angles, but you get the idea. The rims appear to be fine, but the car was pulling all over the road. What kind of damage am I looking at here?

I got hit a few weeks back, bent the control arm, strut, ball joint, and snapped the inner tie rod. If it is the inner tie rod, they're a PITA to get, only one local auto store shad it, AND IT WAS THE WRONG ONE;/ So now I gotta get one from the dealer...damnit..good luck man

Your best bet is to get it looked at professionally. Only that way will you be able to tell what's going on..... :(

I took it to the shop, and the LCA, tie rod, and spindle were all bent. They are already finished with it now, and i can pick it up. I am amazed at how fast they were. The bill is $525.

^^ this is true..** my classic i had a 90 crx si..i was being retarded and driving like an idiot in the rain and slid and hit the curb. if it touched the wheel, had anything to do with the wheel..the rim and tire itself..it was done with..needless to say..20mins of fun ended up in 3 weeks worth of work and over $1000 labor done by myself and my father.

This is the same sort of crash my sunny had, but it was at speed bent the car a bit, also most of the suspension and steering was damaged, also the bottom of the engine was also damaged, front wheels also got it.
Glad you got it fixed so quick, mine took months.

I'd be worried that your suspension cradle is bent as well. I got lucky when I did that, all I did was garf up my new rims on that side and knocked the alignment out. And I still was mad as hell and cried like a baby.

It was fixed correctly, and nothing else is really damaged. The strut was very slightly bent, but is fixed. The price was a friend price because the shop owner knows us.

Brain damage! Why would you drive home with a totally un-alighned wheels when the roads are bad to start with?

What?! I assume you're bringing this back to get even becuase I made fun of your rims, haha. I never mentioned it, but I hit the curb about a mile from my house. I was turning into my friend's neighborhood, and the road was glare ice. I drove about 1 mile home on the messed up alignment, and it didn't matter that much because the roads were snow-covered.

actually if its in the snow it makes it easier to drive home.

i screwed up my driver side front wheel in the snow so i drove home with my driver wheel in the middle of the road so that tire slid on ice/snow while the other tires that gripped went strait

Exactly.

This thread is 3 years old, and the only reason it's back, is because Ser-iouS413 is mad at me for insulting Rotas.

Ser-iouS413- I'm not ripping on your rims per say, I know that silver ones are rare, and they'll look cool on your car, I just personally think that they are low quality. But then again, look at the cars we drive... Sentras ain't exactly BMWs are they?
