Where those prices of the actual intercooler with the endtanks. If so I don't think you well ever find one that cheap.

That is a complete IC with mounting brackets and all. Johnnyracecar.com make very good quality intercoolers. I will be upgrading to the larger one this spring. And IMO, they are priced very well.

whats the difference in a bar/plate I/C and the rest, is there really that big of a performance increase with the bar/plate.

Not to hijack the thread, but...

Bar & Plate IC vs. Tube & Fin IC

Bar & Plate ICs have greater surface area per unit volume (yielding greater thermal efficiency per unit volume and per unit mass) & are more easily resized & modified.

Tube & Fin ICs are dramatically more durable and their thermal efficiency scales more agressively with receptive media velocity.

An argument to one be better than the other would be absurd unless made in the context of a specific application.

To give examples: Turbo Cart teams use tube & fin almost exclusively because the thermal efficiencies are notably greater at the 200+ mph windspeeds speeds and 40+psi boost pressures their ICs see for long periods of time. Hopped up drag cars on the other hand generally do better with bar & plate ICs since they rarely see air speeds over 150mph, while most of the time is actually spent well below that speed. And for short periods of time.

OEs use tube & fin almost exclusively, but mainly for durability benefits as opposed to performance ones.

damnit, why did u have to make this post? im supposed to be getting an intercooler today from ebay and i paid 300. It's 28 inches total length, 9 inches tall, and 2.75 thick. I also wanted endtanks that were 2.25, the one im getting is 2.75. anyways, the johnnyrace one looks badass and good quality
