Im kinda a Turbo Newbie. I really want boost, but I dont have to much money. Christmas is coming up, so I can start working towards getting boost, or just pick up some headers. Should I buy a DET or just find a used turbo? I really want to keep cost to a minimum. If I can install it myself then I will, but I dont know if I will be able to. I dont have an engine lift, and have never done anything that complicated. I am in an Autotech class and we have an engine lift, so that might be an option. My current engine has 105,000 miles, so it would be nice to find a DET with semi-low miles. So, what do you guys think I should do?

First. Do your homework, and save yourself the headaches, the board and the se-r.net and mailing list archives will help tons.
then ask more mature questions.. the more informed you are, the better the questions, the better the replys.. most people won't reply to your post just because this same question has probably been asked ten times in the last five days in different forms.

Second, how is your motor? if it is strong, get some used bb det turbo parts and slap em on, if your motor is weak, swap in a det, more money, but more motor...

just two simple options, do your homework, and be more informed ;)

I say buy the BB DET, Take all the Turbo stuff of that put it on your DE. Then drive the DE till it goes out and slap the BB in. or just drop the BB in.
