Hey, sence my Sr20 has seen it's last idle I've been looking into a new engine. I was thinking the Pulsar GTi-R one, but someone once said to me to get replacement parts for it is quite a pain and suggested the bluebird engine.. any thoughts/comments?

Avenir. Its newer than the Bluebirds, so its likely going to have less mileage, and it usually comes with a ball-bearing turbo.

^ I second that. If you can't get a Avenir then settle for a BB.

There is a GTi-R, BB and Avenir SR20DET. All is covered in the faq, though it isn't easy to find any more. Avenir is the same as the BB in setup, just some used a ball bearing T25 instead of the standard T25. I think they came out in 97 or something like that so they are much newer.

Hey, I'm that someone!

Avenir is harder to find, in Canada anyway, I found.

It's recognizable because it's a silver top engine. Search for it here on this forum for more details.

hmm I figured I can get a GTi-R for fairly cheap (2000$ Canadian) so I'd go that route, but I'll see baout a Avenir.

Call me ingnorent to some point but they're all SR20's, so why would parts for the GTi-R be more expensive then the BB

*edit* where I'm getting it the GTi-R is 100$ more so I figure what the hell

if you blow up a avenir...the motor is the same as the de...but as far as a gtir it would be hard to get those parts..
