got the DE/VE running today. thanks to Big Tom for pointing out the distributor was unplugged (generally a good thing to have).

haven't plugged in the VVL yet (damn, all that time and money and no VVL?!) but i am not worried as i put in new rings, pistons, etc, so it needs to be broken in anyway.

idle was really high at first, but it seems to have calmed down.

the Gen VI does contact the crossmember a little, but not enough to bother me.

this damned thing is QUIET. unbolted at idle sounded about as loud as the DE did with the stock manifold and the exhaust hooked up. with the exhaust hooked up on the VE, i can hear all kinds of other shit like my speedo cable in need of some grease! :D

tomorrow i will set the TPS, idle and timing (guesstimated it for now, not getting on it anyway).

You are the second one in the forum that had the balls to make a DE/VE good luck with the project also I will have a gredy mss if you are interested for sale for $125 shiped sice i will no longer need it it has like 3 moths of use let me know if you need it.

Use the DE TB, and you don't have that problem. :)

i know. it sucks, i will likely switch to a DE throttle body. since i am using the DE hardlines on the back, i cant get water to the cold start wax ball thingy. the thing sits at like 2500 rpm for a long ass time. it only goes down if i let it sit, off, for a while but not too long. its ghey, especially because i just got the TPS set.

went to set the timing, and apparently my "guesstimate" was spot on. right at 15*.

pics will be on the way. i was wrong about the header being clean. its now a bling bling gold color. hopefully it will stay that way, or get the rainbow instead of turning shit brown.
