My drivers side door lock it stuck. Not the key hole, but the mechanism that lets go of the door. The inside lock feels wierd too. I think it is a connections between them. And because it wont open, i cant get the door panel off. Im stuck! My dad and I rolled down the windows and looked in and everything seems to be connected. We even triggered the release inside the door going down from the window seem. On the passenger, it popped the door open, but the driver wont open, so i know that what we are trying is right, it has to be the door mechanism that holds the Bar in the door jam. Has anyone had experience with this? Any suggestions. I need any info, im tired of looking like an idiot climbing over the seat and out the other door everywhere i go. Thanks

try lifting the door upward when youre lifting the handle. i used to have the same problems on my 92 se-r. the main thing you need to replace are those tired old saggy titties....... i mean hinges. lol yeah thise are usually the culprit. also if you still cant open the door , lock it then unlock it keep doing that until you feel that the door is unlocked

The driver's door on my '91 SE-R is facing the same problem in rainy weather. It looks like someone tried to slim jim the door a few times in the past and to open it with something other than the key. It's sometimes hard to open in dry weather and completely impossible in wet.
How do I get it unlocked? Does anyone know how expensive it should be to replace the lock? The other door hasn't been screwed with and is easy to open.

Same thing happened to me - passenger door stopped unlocking from the inside for a couple months, and then one day about 2 weeks ago it stopped opening at all. I had bought a spare latch mechanism months ago at the junk yard, so I figured I was set. Until I was about to rip into the door and realized---if the door is stuck shut, there's no way to get the interior panel off! Not my proudest moment, but I did get enough of the panel out of the way with a hacksaw (ugh) to get access to the inside of the door. Slim jim's don't work too easily on B13 doors, once you get the panel off you can see there's hardly any way to slip one in from the outside and get the door popped.
But anyway, once the panel is somewhat out of the way, I removed all the rods to get to the latching mechanism. The old mechanism didn't let the door open without alot of cussing and swearing, but eventually I got the door open with some patience. Once it was out, you could tell the old mechanism was shot, it didn't move smoothly at all. I think all the times the belt buckle got slammed while closing the door over its lifetime added up...
Getting everything back together was actually alot easier than tearing my door apart to get to the latch. Just take your time and have a spare latch from a B13 ready. You might want to check though -- there was a different door setup on 91-92 Sentras vs 93-94 due to the motorized seatbelts. To be safe, I snagged a latch from a 91/92 style door in case there's a difference in design...

I got my door open. you have to adjust those rods to a certain postion and then pull on one of the unlocking bars, the easiest is the inside unlock bar. but i did it with a clothes hanger in about 2 minutes after i assessed the situation and decided what yo do. then i pulled it in the garage and shut the door!!!! DOH! so i did it again. The mechanism was bad, my dad took it to work and took i tall apart and fixed it. It is working great now. Just get a good, small light, i have a LED pen light that works great, and a metal clothes hanger and you will get it. No need to tear up the inside door panel.
