I recently got a Progress rear sway bar (thanks Mean). Its the old green/blue color, so I figured I would paint it before it goes on. Probably just black or maybe grey, like the new ones are. Anyways, should I sand it down first? What grit would be good? or would a wire brush or something like that work? I know its not rocket science, and its only a sway bar, but it would be nice if the paint lasts. TIA.

I would scuff it up a little bit, you could probably get away with using an sos pad or something like that, just make sure it is clean before you paint.

mike, use a 220 or 320 grit. 400 will be too fine.
