The installation was very straight forward and simple...probably because Jason Schymanski was doing a damn fine job coaching me. Also, the 2-jaw puller that I got was very handy in getting the crank pulley off. There is a subtle difference in reving the car. The engine revs noticeably quicker to redline. Great mod.

Congrats on your mod. Why'd you choose to do that engine mod over others? Are you going turbo? Also, can someone explain what a pulley puller is exactly and how it works?

Thats a pulley puller and the way it works is the three claw looking things go around the pulley an the long middle screw goes against the shaft that the pulley sits on and when you crank the T handle on the puller it pulls the pulley right off almost in an effortless manor...It makes the job really really easy...

Damn, that looks like an expensive device. Thanks for the info though.

So you have to drop the engine?
Or does that tool somehow sneak in there?

You can usuallly rent those from your local auto parts store.

Saaby: Do you have any pics of the install, or do any of you know where the write up for the install is? I've been on SE-R.net and haven't been able to find one for the two pully set. I'll be receiving mine this week and can't wait to put them on

Fuck pulleys. Waste of money and time.

:D

No seriously, didn't feel much of anything with them. I have the crank and waterpump. We installed them over the summer at the Long Island geekout.

Good guess. I chose this mod since it would complement the turbo in the future.

No, you can access the pulleys from the passenger side of the car. Just have to remove some plastic coverings.

Do you have any pics of the install, or do any of you know where the write up for the install is?

I don't have any pics of my install, but if you want pics...you are in luck. Go here (http://www.geocities.com/n_dahi/).

I don't think the 3-jaw puller would work, but Saaby had a 2-jaw puller. It worked well. You can loan these tools out from some autoparts stores. As for a write-up, you could just follow the directions that come with the pulleys. They are correct. YOu'll need a 27mm or 1 1/16 wrench or socket for the crank pulley and a 10, 12, and 17mm wrench for other parts. And a new power steering belt. See UR's website.

Or does that tool somehow sneak in there? Nope, like someone mentioned all you have to do is remove a few plastic pieces from the inside of the passengers side wheel well and you can gain access to the pullies from there and on top in the engine bay.....

I made a 3 jaw puller work on my 91 SE-R - but barely. A two jaw would work much better.
