Hello everyone!

I have a 94 classic, and I want to install my 2 pulley set that I got from the group deal, soon. I have A/C on the car :) but it does not work:( So I want to take the whole system off the car, but I am not sure what that all intails with the pulley install.

I want to take off the A/C pulley so I will need a smaller belt, right? Does anyone out there know the correct part number for the belt W/O the AC? also, what do I need to remove from the car to get AC completly out of the car... pulley, condencer, pump, duct work, what else?

Thanks for the help guys,

You can use a 4 rib non AC belt, but the best way is to go to the auto parts store, and look at the belt they will give you. The number wil be something like XXXXX04. The 94 means 4 ribs. Now get them to look for the same part number, but 06 at the end. This will be the 6 rib belt.

easy way to size belts.... I work at advance auto parts so i do this all the time....

Two dimensions you need:
Number of ribs and lentgh of the belt.

Number of ribs is easy....

Legth: Take the old belt off the pulleys and get a peice of string. Wrap the string around the pulleys how you want it to go. Make sure the adjustment is near the middle of its range. Now take the string off and measure from one end to the other.

Belts are sized in half inch increments and then the ribs

Dayco #'s are as such
560k6 The 560 is the lentgh (56 inches 565 would be 56.5inches) and the 6 is the number of ribs.

Gates numbers are pretty much the same. If ya find a good parts store and tell them you need a belt X inches long with X number of ribs they should be able to get one for ya.

Hope that helps
Rick
