Ok, so I found out last night that I need both rear hub assemblies replaced, one ASAP because there is play with the wheel. and it's hard to hear my stereo the grinding is so bad. (I thought it was the rear pads completely gone).....

I was seraching and saw a lot of ppl commenting on how difficult this procedure is. however, the majority of posts are from b13's and mostly about the fronts.

So looking at replacing it tonight, just wondering if there is anything we should know, problems and/or difficulties that may occur.

And also, the part we may have located did not specify abs in their computer (my car has abs) so does anyone know if the top ABS ring (in below pic) can be removed from the old hub and pressed onto the new hub? or would this be a sketchy procedure?

unfortunately these parts are on backorder at nissan, so 10 days min, and up to 3 weeks max. My car can't wait that long :eek2:

Well, it ends up that the ones we ordered from a "random" auto parts place are not for the abs model. So I've order them in from nissan as a "rush" part.

From what they told me this is a sealed unit that slides in with 4 bolts that attach it. besides something being seized, this seems to be pretty straight forward???

Has anyone replaced their rear b14 hub assembly?

^^ haha, ya that same person posted in the 200sx se-r section on this forum. The fronts are completely different then the backs though, the fronts you have to put together with all the pieces, big PITA, but the rears you buy the whole assembly already put together. Out of the two, sounds like I'd rather have the rears ;)

Mine definitely not a squeaking sound though, it's more like a grinding only heard from inside the car, almost like really harsh road noise. My rear rotors are fine, I still have half of the rear pads left.

both rears are grinding, one has movement when jacked up and hands at 12 and 6. I hope the part comes in soon  Too bad I left it too late, I could've sworn it was the brakes. :(
