anybody have experience with these. I know they are "bad ass" but I need some fitament tech support before I throw some good money down on something I can't use :biggthump feel free to pm me (considering the 7" with a built baffle in the gti) I just don't want to hack up the door fitting these, I would rather go with something slightly lesser and not have to mess with it

dynaudio are prolly the best sounding components and mid bass speakers I have heard in a long time. Great stuff!

I think hacking up the door will be worth the sound of the dynaudios. Feed them some good power and theyll be great. What setup do you plan on running?

What setup do you plan on running?I do not really want to hack the doors, don't tell me this  . I will probably be going with Phoenix Gold amps to feed a tooon of power to them, a Clarion head unit, and a jl 12w3.

What model are you considering. Some of the Dynaudio midbass drivers have a relatively shallow mounting depth
This post is right up my alley. I had the System 240 in my car. You should go with the 240 Gt which as mentioned has a more shallow mounting depth than the regular mid bass does. They are worth whatever you have to overcome believe me. I switched to home audio and have a 6.1 surround system/multichannel music system using Dynaudio speakers. Also you CAN fit the regular mid behind your stock grill but it will require a 3/4" spacer. My friend had a system 340 in his golf and in fact has a set of kick panels lying around to hold their 3" mid and tweet if your interested in them and want to go with the 3 way.

making a spacer is cake, no problem at all. Did your friend have to cut up the door panel to get them to fit, or did he just use a spacer? I am interested in the kicks as well, are they custom or q-logic (and what color are they)

I believe it was just the spacer with some slight trimming on the back side of the door panel where necessary.
They are custom fiberglass kicks that are black carpet. They are specifically made for the Dynaudio tweet and 3" midrange.

I could probably deal with that. what does he want for the kicks (you can pm me with details if you would like)
I am still going through my decision stages right now, so I am still unsure if I am willing to drop close to 1k on door speakers

I made a half in spacer out of particle board to fit my adires. It was pretty simple, if I had to do it again I woulda just bought those plastic spacers.
Do yourself a favor with the Dyn's and make them out of MDF.
