Ok, I know this has probably been covered before. i could not find it in the archives. I want to do one of these ideas. Need help figuring which route I will take!

1)Replace the factory fogs w/ a pair thast would be a straight bolt on replacement ie. NO drilling of thebumper or bumper cover.

2) Or buy replacement lens for the stock units and put hyper white bulbs in them. Then accent them with small amber fogs that would have to fit in the small openings at the sides of the center opening in the bumper cover.

Has anyone done either of these mods, and if so what brands and what types of lights did you use? TIA

Need to do somethig to make my car not stock. Hehe

NISMOrob,

I did some of what you are describing to my Classic about 2 years ago. Replacing the glass on the stock units was going to be more expensive the just getting a cheap set of fogs, so here's what I did:

1) Replaced factory fogs with PILOT brand amber fog lights. They are smaller than the factory units yet provide 55 watts of lighting and I was still able to bolt them up to the original factory mounts.

2) Used the original factory wiring to power the PILOT fogs, so I don't have any cheesy aftermarket switches inside the car.

How much were the factory lens? What series pilots did you replace them with? Yeah I was gonna keep the factory wiring and switch, just rewire it so I can turn on the fogs without the headlights being on.

I beat all of you guys. I jsut bought ones for my new classic and they cost me a whopping 22 bux each plus 9 bucks shipping 3rd day from CA. You can get them from Mossy Nissan. Ask for Greg V. If you are a SERCA member you will get that price plus save on shipping. I love looking at my new fog lights now. Along with some PIAA super white 55Watt bulbs it lights up everything. Email Greg for some prices gregv@mossy.com

Someone just posted that they payed $65 for fog lens replacements! That's too much in my book, which is why I replaced the stock foggers with $29.99 PILOT fog lights. Best thing about this switch has been that I have yet to crack a lens on the PILOT's.

I don't know what model they are, but they are similar in shape to the factory units. The major differences being that they are smaller, lighter and give off an amber light.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I also performed the fog light mod listed on George Roffe's website.

Here's the URL for George's site: http://home.earthlink.net/~geo3/index-old.htm

I was wrong about crediting George with the fog light mod, it was actually Rick Zotz's creation. Here's the link to his site:

I haven't made time to attend any local events since I've moved here last year. I've been really busy with school. I was just getting into import bracket racing back in Texas when I decided to move to California. I think it would be great to meet up with other SR20DE/Nissan owners in the area.

I'm in the market for a new paint job, would you happen to know any paint shops in the area that do good work?

Regards,
Humberto
