: Shaping the bumper for an Intercooler
QuickZeek 12-17-2001, 10:26 AM Sure you could cut it with a torch or plasma cutter.
Heck you could even bend it and forge it with a Slege hammer.
But what about using the tools around the house. Well maybe
not around your house.
We started by cutting with a hack saw once the notches were cut
we then attemted to bend with a pair of pliers to no avail. Next we tried the Hammer (not sledge), and after killing our hands from the vibrations and not getting anywhere we came across the most unlikely of tools.

QuickZeek 12-17-2001, 02:08 PM it's a spearco
i don't remember the model because I had it on a shelf for about a year. I belive I paid about 415 for it. When I got it I thought it was alittle to small but now that its on I think its just right.
Séb_-Nx 12-17-2001, 02:19 PM how did you make your clear turn signals?
QuickZeek 12-17-2001, 02:27 PM a pice of plexi glass with the back side smoked by scratches.
(Home Depot.... :)..)
I used a drimmel
If You go this route becarful how tight you tighten them down.
The glass will crack......mine are.
I just havn't re-done them yet.
QuickZeek 12-17-2001, 02:38 PM I think its
Spearco #2-258
Core with endtanks.

The Bumper cover Im going to keep and fiberglass a lower
spoiler on to it.
the lower spoiler has been cut up pretty badly
but if you want when Im done with that its all yours.

SENTRASER 12-19-2001, 01:07 PM Yes, I would like the lower spoiler...it costs over $350 new from Nissan....let me know when you get it off...I'll take it!! :~)
kiwi_nx-r 02-19-2002, 01:49 AM Nice. Ive got a big ass frount mount intercooler coming in the mail at the moment. I was thinking about how to fit it and how it would look, because I'm using the BB intercooler at the moment, and its just lifted hard up against the top bumper steel, and I was just going to cut the steel out. Did you actually bash the whole thing into shape to fit??? because it would seem to me it may distort the overall shape a bit??? I had a look at the top part of the bumper the other day, it looks like a mission totget off.
Ive used the box part of the frount bumper, behind the lhs indicator for a cold air intake. The indicator has been moddified to let air in, and can be removed altogether for the drags. Goes through a pipe under the guard, and into the rebuilt factory airbox, with K&N fitted, and then straight down into the turbo. To give you and idea of how well this worked, it took me from a 14.5 to 14 flat! This probably reflects more on how bad the old on e was, rather than being a super shit hot idea...
Have a look ar www.geocities.com/nxrdet
I'll post when I get the frount mount
sleeperNX 02-19-2002, 03:14 AM nice site dude, but i was looking at the track times, how come the 60 ft. times are so bad? youd be deep into 13's with a nice 60 ft. time, im guessing very bad tires?
