Hey guys, if you saw in the NX2K section, i wrecked my egg. I found a nice white one, problem is that it is automatic. i can deal with it for now to get back on the road and to classes, but im gonna want to swap my manual in this spring. I SEARCHED, but didnt find much info. What kind of job is this? How hard is it to swap the tranny's? About how long would it take? How much would a shop charge? (im sure alot) also, my engine with the manual has less mileage, so would it be easier to just swap the tranny's themselves, or pull the engines with the tranny's still attached and swap the whole deal? And with installing pedals, and everything else, is there something i should be aware of? any problems you all have run into or something that needs some modification in the swap process? SOrry for so many questions, it is just that i NEED to know because i have to get this car soon or wait on another, and there are not alot of nice eggs for sale, esp around KY. This is a great site and you are the guys to ask so i figured i would ask as much as i could. Or should i just find a manual car.

If there is already a thread or write up, sorry i missed it, just let me know. Thanks everyone!
Chris

I would just swap the whole motor and tranny together, dropping a motor is not much harder than dropping a tranny. do a search, I think there may be a writeup on this somewhere, for the pedel and all that jazz.

Most of the info is here. It's not that hard to do really. Only dificult part was drilling the holes in the firewall for the clutch pedal, but that wasn't really too bad. Also I don't think it lists here that you have to swap the driver side motor mount and you do, I found out the hard way. It should be really easy if you have both cars right in front of you.
