: Interested in engine dyno

I was wondering if I ever wanted to put my engine on an engine dyno. How would I do it? For one thing I'd assume that I would have to keep the intake that I have on the car now, all I'd need to completely remove the exhaust system. Another thing is I'd have to remove my ECU and harness as well.

Now without the tranny being attached will the ecu (my case JWT ECU) still function the same without input from the speed sensor? I'd also assume I'd have to use a jumper wire or so for the nuetral/clutch switch so the engine will start. This would be a way to find out just how much torque is lost through the tranny as well. Anyone have any suggestions.

The ECU is the least of your worries. You'll need an adapter and mounts to install the engine on the dyno. I talked with someone in town with an engine dyno and this is what I was told.
