My OBD-1 USDM swap is supposed to arrive Mon/Tues since the motor I placed in my car has knocking rods and I plan on installing it Friday night after work.

The car has to be driven from my home, to my step-dad's shop, which is MAYBE at the most a 3-4 mile trip. The problem is, I have removed the intercooler and piping to repaint and clean them up some.

The motor is toast, but I will end up putting the intake back on so the MAF reads for the drive. Is this going to be bad for the motor or turbo? The motor is pretty much toast, I just don't want the turbo to get too hot without the intercooler on it.

Thanks.

I drove mine home a couple of miles with the MAF hooked up to the intake like NA.

You will get a really cool turbo spool sound, but it just spins the compressor sidewithout actually compressing anything, so you shouldn't have a problem

BTW, the intercooler cools the air charge going to the engine, not the turbo. The turbo itself is oil and water cooled.
