Where could a 4 inch or 5 inch lcd screen be installed in the NX, I was thinking about trying to mod my dash, but not positive, i want it in a nice and easy to get to spot that isn't a bitch for the passenger to watch either.

what is it, I put my boost guage in the dash above my blinkers, had to cut it , and bond it to it but the end result looks sweet, it looks like it was made to go there, and there was a space to runt he wire behind the guage cluster. if you ant I can try to get pics for you. later, Jason

Hey! That's a great place for you boost controller!! I may have to copy you if you don't mind. :D

The turbo timer looks really good in the gauge cluster too. Everything fits in really well. Good job!

Well i been thinkin about that a little bit and the way i see it you got two options, both of which will require some fab work. one more so than the other though.

#1 I believe you can move the HVAC controls up to where the radio is normally mounted and then put an LCD where the HVAC controls, storage pocket and cupholder were. that would be a good place to mount one flat. The problem with that is you would need one that was touchscren to control the radio from as you wouldn't have a radio location anymore. you may also have to fab up some new brackets for the HVAC unit to make it fit the screw mounting positions.

#2 this is the way i would do it as it is much more stealth....
First of all i would do a component setup. Clarion head and clarion video, or panasonic head and panasonic video etc... Most of the major manufacturers have either a head unit or a video monitor that will fold out of a regular DIN sized opening. Kinda like this unit here.... http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-V3Kq5TllDHP/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=39200&I=133VA707W&o=P&a=0

Then i would take the coressponding head unit and mount it where the storage pocket went and the cideo peice where the head unit normally is. The head unit will fit down there (I have put one there) and you just have to find the correct brackets for it. These brackets were used to mount an accessory CD player when the head unit was a tape deck. The tape deck mounted in the normal position and the CD player mounted in the spot where the storage bin was. This will also be a primo watching position since it up higher and more in the line of sight than down below.

That would be my choice because you can hide the screen easy enough and pull it out when you wanna watch it. Stealth and covenience. The best of both worlds if ya ask me. I had an LCD screen mounted flush in the das of my RX-7 and it got broken into and stolen. I believe the main reason they broke into my car was the LCD right out there in plain sight. So now i try to make everthing as stealth as possible so i don't attract attention.

Anyway think about that and if ya can catch up with a guy names wes on here then you may wanna talk to him since he does that kind of stuff proffessionally.

Hope that helps
Talk to ya later
Rick

yea you can copy it I have no problem, it seemed the best way to do it and keep it some what stock looking.
