Can anyone tell me if the N.Amer NX2000 is based on a jap spec model - and what that model is?

I'm interested in swapability of suspension pieces - ctrl arms etc.

Thanks,

Robin

It is the same exact platform. The US NX2000 was ONLY manufactured in Japan. From what I understand, the suspension, brakes, control arms, everything is the same. Known as NX100's and NX200's I believe.

All the suspension bits should interchange. Are you looking for something not available in America?

As far as I can tell, the top-range NX Coupe in Japan was only offered with the SR18DE (same with the top-line B13 Sunny). Otherwise, it's a lot of the same. Really, the NX2000 we got was as good or better than any of the NX range offered anywhere in the world. The AD22VF brakes and body cladding were only an option on the Australian NX, and the Japanese didn't get the SR20DE.

I was able to find some low-quality J-spec NX Coupe brochure scans (http://serjimr.tripod.com/brochure.html), if you want a look. My international B13 page (http://serjimr.tripod.com/b13world.html) might be worth a look, too.

I'm in the process of stripping down an NX for production class stage rallying. There are a couple of people in the US rallying SERs and a couple of people up here rallying NX's - almost all of them are running production classes.

I'm trying to look ahead with my other NX to eventually running Group 2 - it's like Open class for 2WD cars (except no forced induction). A lot of Nissan products are rallied overseas: Pulsar (Sunny) GTi-R, Micra Grp 'A' Kit Cars, Almera GTi etc -

The rear suspension on the NX looks a bit weak, I'm trying to figure out whether custom rally ctrl arms (magnesium, alloy whatever) made for one of the non-NA-market cars would fit the NX.

Eg. if someone could tell me that the rear suspension on the Almera (or ?) was the same as the NA NX - then I'm pretty sure I could track down some fairly trick components.

That will leave you with the B13, in both coupe (NX) and sedan (Sentra) form.

Besides all of the NX around the world (NX-R, NX Coupe, 100NX, etc), there are the sedans to look into:

- '90-'93 Sunny
- '91-'94 Sentra
- '91?-current Tsuru

I'm guessing the NX was sold in 1990 in Japan like the B13 Sunny. The NX was sold in Australia up through 1995, if I recall correctly.

The Pulsar is a N-series chassis, and the B14 and B15 have the beam axle rear suspension, of course. Those are right out.

I don't know if the B13 Tsubame wagon rear suspension is the same as the other body styles, but I figure that is nil, anyway. I can't see there being much aftermarket support for that car.

Thanks,

exactly what I'm looking for - I knew the NX & Sentra were the B13 chassis, I just didn't know which overseas brand names were B13s.

Robin,

with very little differences (well, none according to my research), Bxx and Nxx platforms are identical. I have the FSMs for B13, B14 and N14, N15.
No matter what the model name in every market (Sentra, Pulsar, Sunny, Almera) B13s are identical to N14s and B14s identical to N15s.

This may broaden your serch.

what means "body cladding were only an option on the Australian NX"? what is the difference??? what the hell is a nx-r?? in japan they had also an option for a 1,5L with 94bhp!

not sure about body cladding!! but in australia we got two models, the nx coupe and the nx-r. both models have sr20de, the only difference is nx-r has ABS, different front bar with fog lights, side skirts, cruise control and power windows. think that is bout it, it was more the luxury model.

Robin - If you track down magnesium or aluminum arms (front or rear) or any other trick/light suspension substitutes please let me know. I was thinking about how I'd like to do that next on my ride. I would gladly join a group deal or go for a one-off custom set of parts.
