Hey guys,

I am about to pull the KA24DE from the 240SX I am working on. Is it feasible to pull the engine and tranny out as a single unit, or would it be a lot better to remove the tranny first and the engine? I am not sure how much clearance there will be with the tranny intact.

Thanks,

I haven't done it personally, but I have done the clutch on my 240. Given what I've seen, all you would need is a load leveler to "tip" the engine as you pull it out.

A load leveler is a threaded shaft device that allows you to shift the load and effectivly change the angle that the engine hangs.

As you would rase the engine, you would slowly start to angle it back. It is possible, but it will be a bit tricky. It's probably easier, and safer, to drop the tranny first.

Use your best judgment.

the way I have always done a rwd car is pull it out in one unit and take it apart out of the car.............alot easier imho.
