Brand new 1992 se-r
Brand new 2002 se-r vspec

Pick one and tell me why you picked it. I'm just curious to see what some of the Pro's think.
(ps. I'm new here so sorry if this has been covered already... ;) )

Very good question Spotch....:) As much as I'd like to say otherwise, I think i'd take the B15 '02 Spec V. Mainly because I've already had a B13 SE-R before.....

Brand-new 1992 Classic SE-R, hands down.

I've driven the new '02, and it's great.

I've also purchased a '93 brand-new.

The '92 is a known quantity. Durability issues are all figured out now. There's a ton of aftermarket (comparatively speaking) for it, as well as all kinds of turbo goodies from the Japanese market, for cheap.

-No throttle-by-wire (it's terrible, IMHO).
-No OBD2 to deal with :D
-No beam axle.
-Spins past 6,100 rpm.
-Indestructible engine, if treated/maintained/modded with care.

The QR25 is just too much of an unknown quantity. Hopefully, time will prove me wrong. Just my opinion.

For a daily-driven car: 2002 SE-R Spec V.

-4 doors (practical)
-power windows and locks and the comfort/convenience stuff (yeah, I'm a pansy)

For a track/autox car: 1992 Sentra SE-R

-lighter
-less standard equipment (see lighter)
-independent rear-suspension
-costs less when new and even more-so now (used)
-SR20DE (do I even have to explain?)
-existant aftermarket
-relatively cheap to make fast (read: good driver, good suspension/tires)

I agree. I would probably buy a 92' if i was gonna race it alot. The aftermarket is WIDE OPEN for these . But, i wasn't looking to race mine all the time so i got a 2002 Spec V. To be honest with you this car is awesome! Alot of people don't like it for whatever reason but, this car is FAST, period! It's bone stock and all the reviews have it running mid 15's. And the handling is VERY tight. Not too tight for a daily driver though. I think it would be a good car to race too once the aftermarket opens up. I love it! So, my feelings are go for the 2002 Spec V. But, drive them both and see which you prefer. Happy shopping!!

i'll keep my 92 cause it's just as fast, a 2 door and i don't need a loan to drive it..

plus i don't have to crap my pants about hitting a 6.1k redline.

(ps. I'm new here so sorry if this has been covered already... ;) ) Get the 92' SE-R
Cause it does have a much greater aftermarket that the B15 does and you can make them alot quicker....Plus I like the classics better than the B15's....

The classic SE-R all the way. Its cheaper, its a sleeper, Its just as fast performance wise according to the #'s...its got the high revving sr20de and it has a nice aftermarket support built up already.
