Hey guys...I just changed yet another clutch cable(3 in 6-7 years) since it got stretched and I could barely engage each gear. Well, it was ok for awhile, but now after driving the car a little while, it becomes difficult to shift into any gear and although the clutch cable is not stretched, its still pretty hard to push in. I have an ACT street clutch w/ Exedy disc that's about 5-6 yrs old.
What could be the prob here if its not the clutch cable? Is my pressure plate messed up already? could it be the throwout bearing or the clutch fork? Need some advice on this one. Thanks.

I have a act extreme which is also about 4-5 yrs old and the clutch is hella hard.I have snapped 5 clutch cables since 2000 so keep extras but since u have changed the cable it could be the throwout bearing. Had that happen on my other car,but before u change anything try using royal purple fluids in ur tranny itll help shift much easier.. :biggthump

and the pressure plate was in pices--thanks to the woman I bought the car from!!!

Well, I had to do my clutch a lil under a month ago. Im kinda perplexed a the problems youre having with the cable though, even through both a stock clutch and an XTD, i never had that much stretch in the cable. Id say, especially with a stronger clutch, just give it like a 1\8-1\4 more slack than normal, should save on the wear\stretch on the cable. Im not sure though with the exedy disk (because the one i put in mine was a 6puck, i have absolutely no engagement time, so as for easing in and out, its kinda out of the question). Depending on how yours performs, adjust accordingly. Just my 2 cents.
